As regards the financial side of the
question the Official Receiver's Commission for the period
1903-1908 amounted to an average annual sum of 84,446, while in
the year 1909 it rose to $11,823 and in 1910 it reached a
total of 16,342.16. This Commission is of course credited to
Revenue. Similarly the revenue derived from stamps which
amounted in 1909 to $2,280 last year rose to $2,998. The
Government further receives large sums in the shape of un-
-claimed dividends and undistributed monies: 13,758 under
this head was paid into last year's account.
The estimated cost of the sub-depart-
-ment for the current year was $8,377 in personal emoluments
and $1,140 in other charges but from the former have to be
deducted savings on retrenchment of staff amounting to $450 and from the latter the sum of $675 on cessation of the charge
for rent.

creation at the present time of a separate office of Official Receiver, I am of opinion that the salary attached to the
post of Deputy Official Receiver should be increased in pro- -portion to the additional responsibilities imposed. I there- -fore recommend that the equivalent under the scheme recently
approved of the salary originally suggested by me (£540
